FIFE’S PICKS: March 25 Josh Ritter / Rick Barry

Josh Ritter and Rick Barry have a lot in common. Both are Saint favorites, both posses a collective troubadour style that tends to travel the same dusty back road, avoiding pop dead ends in favor of gritty, cynical musings on the wide-open road to Los Americana. Also both will be debuting songs that you may have never heard before, including Ritter’s soon-to-be-released “So Runs The World Away,” officially due out in May. This is the show that was top secret for a while… Rick Barry probably didn’t even know. Actually, I knew but that’s only because our agency has a mole inside their organization. It lives in the wooden barrel in the dressing room next to the tattered leather couch and the mysterious bottle of Jack Daniels. This is a top pick. Come early and get up front.

Writing again?

It appears that the Rick Barry writing strike is near to an end. My creative process has almost come to a final vote. Incubation, Illumination and Implementation have all voted to go back to work, Preparation still holds the deciding vote for a unanimous decision.

If the Rick Barry Creative Union agrees, they will return to work immediately, but only produce 16 episodes a season, instead of the previous 23.a few seconds ago.
